Since childhood, my hair was my crown, a thing that I always paid much attention to. Asian inspired thighs and long, luscious layers also made the rounds, getting friends and family members excited and excited. Instead, the realities of daily existence and mood swings, the pressure of daily work or too frequent new schedules affected the relations. Once I had beautiful shiny hair that was quite healthy but this changed and my hair became dry, dull and brittle. Sometimes, I saw my youthful youthful hair in the mirror and yearned for that type of hair; this made me realize the need to manage my hair. This is how after having my hair colored to death I was able to bring the shine back to my hair and the things that I picked up in the process.
Chapter 1 is The Turning Point.
Well, it all began in early morning on a winter’s day. When one morning I glanced at myself in the mirror, the flatness of the hair could not be overlooked. It was a mess, limp, and nothing like the glossy tail of hair I thought I knew. I felt the need for a change and I went to a childhood friend who was a stylist of some repute. She hugged me tightly and smiled at me in a manner that signalled that she was prepared to make my hair fabulous and restore my self-esteem.

Chapter 2: Embracing Hydration.
My friend’s first piece of advice was simple yet revolutionary: better access to and retention of drinking water sources:. “Speaking of sponges, your hair is like one a punisher,” she said. ‘If it’s dry it needs moisture to grow,’ Still I had been using a clarifying shampoo which I thought would keep the hair clean but instead was removing most of the hair oils. She encouraged that she should change the hydrating shampoo she has been using and that she should use a deep conditioning mask at least once a week.
With this information in hand, I started a trend of moisturizing treatments. For the hair, I opted for a moisturising shampoo with natural oils and for the next week, I bought a deep conditioning hair mask with shea butter. On this aspect, the change was considerbly slow but very consistent. My hair began to soften in feel and the glossy were appearing again.
Chapter 3: Gentle Cleansing
One of the other critical things that I learned was how I washed my hair. I had always been using aggressive scrubbing motions, thinking that this was the only way to help remove as much as the dirt as possible. My friend suggested that I should be gentle. “Do not use hot water,” she said. “Use warm water to avoid removing the skin’s natural oils and do not over-cleanse: massage the shampoo only on the scalp and let the lather go down the hair’s length.
This time, I followed her advice to the letter and I saw a lot of changes. I noticed that after washing my hair especially when using the bottle it did not feel as stripped as it used to therefore more manageable. I also learnt that rubbing my fingers on the scalp lead to increased blood flow since the hair follicles benefited from it to produce healthier hair strands.
Chapter 04: Art of Drying
The drying of my hair had also been something that I had worried about. I once scrubbed my hair with a towel, with an intention of drying them faster. However, this habit was leading to breakage unto natural growth rates of the organizations. After I met my friend, she told me to blot the hair with a microfiber towel and let it dry naturally as often as I could.
I then changed the towel used to what is known as a microfiber towel and then began to blot my hair instead of having to rub it. Less frequently, when I employed a blow dryer, I apprehensively applied the lowest heat possible and always maintained a decent range with it. This small alteration on the setting helped me solve the problem of frizz and also made my hair to look healthier and shiny.
Chapter 5: Tools, services and information products
When I went further and started to determine about the necessity of hair care, then I got to know about the necessity of the products. My friend assisted me on which products could be suitable for my hair type. I made a switch to using a leave – in conditioner for added moisture and applied a heat protectant before styling. These products became part and parcel of my regimen in order to protect my hair from getting damaged and to keep it conditioned all through the day. I also found out the best product in form of a lightweight serum that tames the frizz and adds shine. I was simply able to use a couple of drops to the tips of my hair and found that it gave the hair meer a shiny finish without making it heavy.

Chapter 6 : Feeling Good Within
It was also more apparent to me why it is said that beauty begins from within; that the people were right in claiming that only healthy hair is beautiful. My friend explained the need to undertake a diet taking foods with those nutrients which we require in our daily basis. I ensured that I took more of omega 3 fatty acids, vitamin and mineral meals in my meal plans. The intake of salmon, spinach, and nuts were incorporated into my diet as well as a lot of water devoured.
Not only has it helped my hair immensely, but all the food I consume has become so much better as well. I was feeling energetic as well as noticed changes in my skin that proved the fact that it’s not only the food one eats but also the way one lives one’s life.
Chapter 7: The Magic of Regular Trims
A word that we probably never want to hear again was maintenance or more precisely trims. For instance, I got to the extent of not shortening my hair because I believed I would lose length as a result. Yet, my friend insisted on the kind of trims that helps in the removal of split ends to allow healthy growth.
I was going for a trim every 6-8weeks to Rita my stylist. To my uttermost amazements, I was seeing my hair grow much healthier and much vibrant each time I visited the salon. The trims helped to make the ends appear neat, and soon I realised it really wasn’t the length of my hair that was important but its condition.

Chapter 8: Embracing Self-Care
This I learned as I progressed further, and realized that self-care was as much part of hair care as anything else. They made it nice to take time and shower my hair with treatment and being conscious of how I treated my hair became a hobby. I continued to arrange for my hair a few sessions a week at the spa and try as many masks and treatments as possible to make it interesting.
From the show, I discovered how to safeguard my hair from the harm that is likely to be caused by the environment. Whether it was putting a hat on a sunny day or using a special UV protectant spray the difference was quite obvious and my hair had never felt so healthy.
